Algalif Iceland

Algalíf is a market leader in the production of natural Astaxanthin from microalgae and is currently commissioning its new state-of-the-art
microalgae plant in Reykjanesbaer, Iceland. Thanks to its access to competitive and renewable geothermal energy and abundant access to naturally filtered water, Algalíf is counting on all these assets to achieve their full potential : microalgae cultivation on a large scale.
Their current production capacity will triple by 2025, propelling Algalif to the top of the micro-algae industry in terms of production tonnage and industrial know-how.
Since 2023, ImmunRise Biocontrol France has been working with the biotechnology company Algalíf Iceland to set up a long-term strategic partnership for the development of a microalgae farm dedicated to producing microalgae on a large scale to meet the needs of the biocontrol market in D extract.
The aim is to produce several hundred tonnes a year to meet Immunrise's market needs.
The EUREKA Eurostars 3 - Call 4 project for their SEEDS OF LAVA (SOLA) project, awarded in July 2023, will enable the IBF Algalif consortium to begin industrial production, scaling-up and optimization to achieve the highest yields in terms of quantity and quality, in a pilot unit on the Icelandic site.
