Our story
Two long-standing friends with complementary backgrounds, a researcher and an agronomist both dedicated and experienced, founded Immunrise Biocontrol. It is an independent French company that stems from the “Institut de Biologie de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure (IBENS, Paris)”. Their aim is to identify and develop non-GMO solutions drawn from nature to protect crops.
The idea is to identify marine micro-organisms that can either stimulate plants’ natural defences or act directly on pathogens, limiting the development of disease in plants. Immunrise Biocontrol will make it possible to improve the yield and quality of cultivated plants while reducing the use of synthetic pesticides.
Our team
The IBF team is strategically structured according to its target markets: seed treatment and foliar treatment.
A SEA DEPARTMENT
in charge of maintaining and screening a collection of 650 strains of microalgae and marine bacteria to assess their effectiveness against plant diseases.
A FORMULATION CENTER
offering efficient formulations to our agricultural engineers in charge of testing seed and plant matrices.
AN EARTH SECTION
responsible for assessing the production capacity of strains of agronomic interest.
Our approach
A scientific approach to a nature rich world full of opportunities and a fascinating ancestral microcosm from which we draw tomorrow’s solutions. We are conscious of the agricultural, environmental and social issues at stake. There is an urgent need to change our practices.
We want to play a part in the agro-ecological transition movement by providing farmers with natural plant protection solutions that guarantee sustainable, high-performance agriculture with a new lease of life.
Our ambition
To develop a range of biosolutions,
for use in foliar applications (see results: mildew*vine, scab*apple, etc.),
field crop seed treatments (see results: currently being consolidated) and vegetable seeds (see results: phoma*slackgrass, alternaria*cabbage, etc.)
We want to provide agriculture with a robust alternative
to synthetic pesticides in order to reduce the health and environmental risks.
We aim to make a successful transition to high-performance,
healthy agriculture that is in tune with society.
